Exide – The Manufacturer Behind Centra Batteries
Exide, a global leader in energy storage solutions, is the current manufacturer of the well-known Centra batteries, familiar to many motorists in Poland. Exide products go beyond automotive batteries to include advanced solutions for industrial equipment and backup power systems, such as those used in medical facilities.
Exide boasts a history dating back to 1888. Today, the brand operates research centres and manufacturing facilities worldwide, with its products available in over 80 countries. In 2008, Exide acquired Poznań-based Centra, a renowned Polish producer of batteries and accumulators.
Thanks to its extensive scientific and technological resources, Exide products represent cutting-edge energy storage and management solutions. In the United States, Exide’s offerings have been part of daily life for over a century, making the brand a natural contributor to advancements in solar technology and electric vehicles.
Why Choose Exide Products?
The partnership between Exide and Centra has resulted in reliable and modern automotive batteries. At IC24.UK, you can find a wide range of Exide products, including batteries for passenger and commercial vehicles, specialty and non-standard batteries, motorcycle batteries, and generators.
In an era of energy efficiency and stringent emissions regulations, intelligent solutions are essential. Exide has been at the forefront of innovation, introducing Start-Stop technology to the market in 2004. This feature, now standard in modern cars, is trusted by prestigious brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Bentley, Citroën, Volvo, and Jaguar.
Another standout innovation is the Carbon Boost technology, introduced in 2014 for Centra Futura batteries. This technology utilises carbon additives in the negative plates to enhance charge flow, resulting in 75% faster energy recovery and extended battery life.
Looking for a Reliable Battery? Choose Exide
Modern vehicles, with extensive features requiring energy efficiency, demand specialised solutions like Centra AGM batteries – standout Exide products. Designed with patented LifeGuard technology, these batteries support advanced Start-Stop systems, ensuring consistent performance throughout their lifecycle, even under partial charge. Safety is also prioritised, with the electrolyte securely contained within a glass mat.
