Kormoran – Polish Tyres with an Ideal Balance of Quality and Price
Kormoran is a tyre brand produced by the Michelin group at its Olsztyn plant, formerly known as Stomil. Kormoran tyres retain the traditional logo of the Olsztyn factory, continuing a tradition of Polish tyre manufacturing that dates back to the 1960s. Some Kormoran products are also manufactured at factories outside Poland.
This is because Michelin, the current owner of the brand, produces tyres under other brands at the Polish facility, including Michelin, Kleber, BFGoodrich, and Taurus. This is a testament to the high production standards maintained at the Olsztyn plant. Kormoran was also the first brand to introduce radial tyres in Poland, a revolutionary innovation in tyre technology.
The Olsztyn plant is one of the largest employers in the region, with Michelin employing approximately 5,000 people.
The product range includes summer, winter, and all-season tyres for passenger cars, SUVs, vans, and light off-road vehicles designed for use on forest and unpaved roads. At our store, you’ll find a wide selection of tyres in various sizes, making it easy to find a model that suits your vehicle.
Kormoran offers several tyre series. Among summer tyres, the key models include:
- Road tyres,
- Road Performance tyres,
- Ultra High Performance tyres.
These models differ in speed rating and purpose. Road tyres typically have a T (190 km/h) or H (210 km/h) rating, Road Performance tyres have a V (240 km/h) or W (270 km/h) rating, while Ultra High Performance tyres come with W or Y (310 km/h) ratings. The Ultra High Performance series is designed for vehicles with powerful engines, offering exceptional handling and stability at high speeds. The Road and Road Performance series are more budget-friendly options, combining excellent quality with affordability.
Winter tyres are available in two series: SnowPro and Snow+. These differ in speed ratings, with Q (160 km/h) and T ratings, respectively. They cater to budget-conscious buyers looking for good quality as well as those seeking tyres with superior performance and durability. Additionally, Kormoran offers All Season tyres for year-round use.
