Matelli – Italian Passion for Automotive Excellence

The story of Matelli began in 1962 near Brescia, Italy, when an engineer named Metelli founded a car repair workshop. In 1970, the workshop was transformed into a manufacturing plant to meet the growing demand for automotive parts. Initially, Matelli specialised in engine components, but by 1975, the company expanded its portfolio to include hydraulic components for brake and clutch systems.

The 1990s marked a period of rapid growth for Matelli as it began producing drivetrain components, including constant velocity joints and drive shafts. In 1996, the company merged with Cifam, a brand known for hydraulic brake and clutch components.

Since 2001, Matelli has also included brake discs and water pumps under the Graff brand. Between 2008 and 2010, the product range was further expanded to include brake pads and linings, making Matelli a comprehensive supplier of brake system components. In 2017, the company acquired Bugatti Autoricambi, a manufacturer of water pumps.

Matelli’s Expertise in Timing Components

Among the engine parts offered by Matelli, timing components hold a prominent position. These include valve guides, seats, and adjustment shims for setting valve clearances.

Mechanics value Matelli products for their durability and precision. A significant advantage of the company’s range is its breadth, including parts not only for modern vehicles but also for older and even classic models. This includes timing components suitable for vehicles from the USA, Europe, and Asia.

These features make Matelli products indispensable for independent mechanics specialising in used vehicle repairs. With Matelli, finding the right parts for servicing older models becomes significantly easier, eliminating the often lengthy searches for original components no longer in production.
