Pewag is an Austrian brand with origins dating back to the 15th century. The earliest mentions of the company come from 1479 and describe a forge operating in the small town of Bruckl, where the first chains were crafted. A pivotal moment in the company’s history came in 1912, when it developed the first snow chain for car wheels. Soon after, production began, and the company expanded its range to include Pewag winter accessories such as gloves, hats, and snow shovels.

In 1999, the first Polish Pewag branch was established in Bielsko-Biała, where it continues to manufacture snow chains and other items from the brand’s catalogue.
